Deputy Director, Finance Systems

Job Summary:


This position is part of the KPL Technology & Innovation leadership team, reporting to the Director, Corporate Systems.  The role is to own the strategy, roadmap, initiatives execution and daily operations of Finance Systems in KPL. 


Acting as the Technology & Innovation (T&I) business partner and focal point of contact for the finance leaders in KPL, the job incumbent will lead a team to work closely with the KPL Finance functions and other related functions that are also users of the finance systems , such as Leasing, Asset Management and Property Management, collaborate with other T&I teams to ensure the systems are designed / enhanced according to the user requirements which are aligned with business need, and T&I standards, and operate with required performance and compliance.
 

Responsibilities:
 

  • Be the business partner / focal point to KPL Finance Leaders and stakeholders to advise, define, align and deliver related T&I strategy, solutions and action plans to improve systems reliability, efficiency and effectiveness; ensure the performance, quality and compliance of relevant systems is up to the requirements of the users  
  • Build rapport and engage with these key stakeholders through different means including regular meetings, management report, etc to ensure all stakeholders are aligned
  • Assess, propose and structure the Hong Kong and Mainland T&I Finance Systems teams and vendors.  Lead and manage such team to plan, design, implement, upgrade/enhance and operate the relevant systems, in collaboration with T&I COE teams for Finance and other businesses functions (such as Leasing, Asset Management, Property Management)
  • Oversee, manage and implement Finance Systems, including but not limited to JD Edwards, Oracle EPM (budgeting, financial closing, cashflow forecast), Treasury Systems, Financial Reporting tools, etc., for
    • Sales/Lease to Cash
    • Procure to Pay
    • Record to Report, including closing
    • Fixed Assets
    • Budget Planning, Forecast, Financial Analysis and reports
  • Lead and own Finance Systems related projects, including major JD Edwards upgrade, EPM implementation/enhancement/improvement, resource plan, budget, and daily operation, in alignment with overall T&I framework and in close collaboration with other teams
  • Provide input to budget planning, monitor the budget spending of allocated to Finance systems and ensure the spending is within the approved budget
  • Support other T&I projects related to Finance Systems
  • Strengthen Finance Systems team capability and capacity; provide leadership and coaching to the team, acquire and develop talents
  • Be part of T&I leadership team, provide input to shape the overall T&I strategy, roadmap, architecture, organization, policies and processes
  • Stay abreast of technology trends; Introduce new technology and innovation to enable business objectives
  • Perform any ad hoc duties and projects when necessary
     

Requirements:
 

  • Degree in Computer Science or related technology disciplines or Finance related disciplines
  • Practitioner of PMP, Business Analysis, Agile/SCRUM, ITIL with accounting certification is a plus
  • 12+ years of experience in information technology development, delivery and management, preferably in property developer for both development and investment properties
  • 7+ years of managerial experience leading sizable team
  • Solid experience in finance systems and ERP implementation and operations
  • Relevant experience in Finance operation, JD Edwards system implementation and operations, or Oracle EPM (or equivalent) system implementation and operations (budgeting and forecast, financial closing and consolidation, etc.) is highly preferred
  • Self-motivated and adaptable with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong project management and people management skills with team leadership
  • Customer-oriented; Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both business and technical
  • Good command in spoken and written English, Cantonese and Mandarin
